Has your doctor told you to meet with a nutritionist? Do you feel like something is off with your health, you suspect food is the cause, but you don’t know where to start? Start with me. We’ll get into your medical history, comb through your current eating patterns, and start making some changes. I will want to know about everything: Hormones, bathroom habits, moods, energy, cravings, and so on. Sometimes we will need to get other practitioners involved, and I have a list of trusted resources. We will be making changes and checking in weekly at first, then bi-weekly, and monthly as we shift into ‘maintenance mode’. My goal is to get you feeling better in the quickest way possible without overwhelming you.
If you have stubborn weight, vague symptoms, cravings and low energy, and you want to get to the bottom of it ASAP, this cleanse is for you. This is a six week anti-inflammatory cleanse that begins with cutting out sugar, alcohol and caffeine for the first week, then eliminates all possible allergenic foods for three weeks, while eating nutrient-dense, healing foods. We’ll watch while your body detoxes, and finds a new, healthier ‘normal’. After the three weeks of clean eating, we will re-introduce restricted foods one at a time and watch for reactions, helping you to identify food sensitivities. Our goal is for you to maintain your new-found level of health, but with greater food options and variety. Past cleanse participants have lost weight, eliminated acid reducing drugs, stabilized hormones, increased energy, improved athletic recovery, eliminated asthma, gained energy, slept better and reported radiant skin. I check in frequently during the cleanse to help troubleshoot problems, answer questions, and provide food samples and demos. This is the quickest way to be your best you.
Ensure you have an open 6 weeks to do this right. Find a quiet time in your calendar when you can focus on you.
PLEASE NOTE: A critical component in this cleanse to mitigate blood sugar swings and cravings is eating protein at every meal, in addition to copious amounts of vegetables. Because vegetarian sources of protein such as nuts, seeds, soy and beans are also potentially reactive foods, this cleanse requires you to be comfortable with eating animal protein (even if it is only therapeutically for 3-4 weeks). Keep in mind, you will be eating the highest quality free range/grass fed animal protein available, and completely avoiding the conventional feed lot, ethically sketchy variety. If you are vegan for health reasons but are having health problems, consider this cleanse and the possibility of using animal protein therapeutically. If you are vegan for ethical reasons, this is probably not the right choice for you.
Cleanse with Friends
If you are interested in the cleanse listed above, consider doing it with at least one friend. I say this, because when you do it on your own, it is easy to feel isolated, when everyone else is having burgers, chips and beer at the bbq and you’re not. In addition, as strange as it sounds, the cleanse process is a journey that often makes lasting, powerful changes, and it is more fun to have company. Try to convince your partner or friends to go along for the ride.
Do you read recipes and menu plans and then feel completely overwhelmed? Does any type of cooking besides opening cans, packets, and boxes seem like too much? Are people constantly talking about foods and/or preparation methods that you are unfamiliar with? If you answered yes to any of these questions, you need kitchen therapy. Truth be told, this is one of my favorite services. We will explore the kitchen together, mastering recipes and techniques, then discuss how to apply these methods to other dishes. This is a no pressure, hands-on, FUN way to get comfortable and confident in the kitchen.
Do people and articles regularly mention products and foods that you are unfamiliar with? Do you walk into a ‘health food’ supermarket and have no idea where to start? Are you buying the same unhealthy things because you can’t seem to get out of your rut? If so, we need to go food shopping together. We will tour the supermarket, talk about products/produce that I think you personally might like, preparation ideas, and health benefits. We’ll also talk about good supplement brands and their benefits, if applicable.
Do you need a speaker for a large or small group on something health related? Food and Mental Health, When Counting Calories Doesn’t Work, Fat Protein & Carbs, Heart Health, Healing with Food, or Getting Kids to Eat Veggies? Let me help you. If you want food/cooking demos to be a part of this, I can do that too. I love food. I love talking about food. I love making people feel empowered to change their life by making simple changes to their diet and lifestyle. Contact me and we’ll come up with a plan.
